flycatcher update

the baby birds are getting bigger by the day. i tried to peek in, carefully, but never saw the eggs, maybe they weren't hatched that many days. anyways, these first pics were taken on june27, the babys look just like a hairy and gooey lump...






quite helpless...








...but the mama (papa?) bird was being vigilant...







...and giving us the eye when we opened the door.







on july1, the babies are starting to look like birds. at first we thought that there were only three babies...







...turns out there is four, four hungry ones.







and sleepy...







maybe this one got enough to eat and the other one not?







they've been doing quite well in the busy doorway. i hope we notice at once when the flying lessons start, and keep the dog some place else...
